Welcome to mrsippy. Before your little one takes their first sip, here’s a quick guide to preparing, using and caring for your bottle so every drink stays clean, fresh and ready for the day ahead.
Our bottles are designed to come fully apart so you can clean every part properly — because fresh water deserves a fresh bottle.
1. Preparing your mrsippy bottle (before first use)
Before using your bottle for the first time, we recommend giving it a gentle wash.
Start by disassembling the bottle:
✔ Unscrew the lid from the bottle
✔ Detach the handle and base from the lid
✔ Push the clear lid inward to remove it
✔ Remove the silicone seal
✔ Remove the straw
✔ Take out the carbon block filter
Now wash the parts:
✔ Hand wash all components (except the filter) with warm water and a mild detergent
✔ Use a soft bottle brush and straw brush to reach smaller areas
✔ Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue
✔ Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling
Please note: The filter does not need washing.
2. Preparing the filter
Your mrsippy bottle uses a NSF Certified replaceable carbon block filter designed to reduce tap water contaminants and improve the taste and quality of tap water.
Before first use:
✔ Rinse the filter under running water for around 30 seconds
✔ Shake off excess water
✔ Insert the filter housing into the straw
This quick rinse prepares the filter for use.
Filter replacement:

3. Assembling and using your bottle
Once everything is clean and dry, you’re ready to put your bottle back together.
Assembly steps:

Insert the filter housing into the straw

Attach the straw to the underside of the lid

Place the silicone seal back into its groove inside the lid (ensure it sits flat and snug with the deeper side of the track facing inwards.) Pro tip: Make sure both the seal and the inside of the lid are completely dry before inserting — this helps create a tight suction and ensures a leak-proof seal.

Press the clear lid back into position until you hear a 'click'

Reattach the handle and base

Screw the lid back onto the bottle, ensuring the button is centred with the logo and handles.
Fill with fresh tap water, close the lid firmly, and your mrsippy is ready to go.
Please note: The sip may feel slightly firmer at first — this is the filter getting to work, helping trap contaminants from tap water as your child drinks. This is completely normal and will feel natural after the first few sips.
4. Cleaning after everyday use
To keep your bottle hygienic and tasting great, we recommend cleaning it regularly.
Daily care:
✔ Disassemble the bottle
✔ Hand wash all parts (except the filter) using warm water and mild detergent
✔ Use a straw brush to clean inside the straw
✔ Rinse thoroughly
✔ Allow all parts to dry fully before reassembling
Important:
mrsippy bottles are hand wash only. Dishwashers can warp components and affect the seal.
5. Pro tips to keep your bottle fresh
✔ Empty overnight – letting your bottle dry completely helps prevent moisture buildup
✔ Replace filters monthly – this keeps your water tasting crisp and fresh
✔ Clean regularly – small food particles or drink residue can lead to bacteria growth if left sitting
✔ Check the seal – ensuring the silicone seal sits correctly keeps your bottle leak-proof
